Rice Genus Details
Rice is an important grain crop. It was originally native to the East Indies, but is now grown throughout the tropics, California and Texas. The leaves are 2' long and 1/2" wide. The plant bears fruiting panicles that are a foot long. The grain is straw-colored but white when polished.
